Info: San Gabriel Canyon OHV Area offers up to 150
acres of diverse off-road opportunities. Water crossings, rocks, dirt roads and
sand hills are some of the seasonally challenging experiences you will find. The
assortment of physical terrain is unmatched anywhere in this area. Here you can
truly enjoy the results of your California OHV funds at work.

Location: Southern California,
between the 605 fwy and 57 fwy north of the 210 in
the San Gabriel Valley. Take Azusa ave. north towards the mountains, up to the
Morris reservoir or farther past the San Gabriel reservoir to the OHV area

Canyon 7-15-07 - Evan and Stevo went with the bikes I loaned them the camera
July 1, 2007 - Evan and myself made it in :) Stevo showed up late
and was turned away cause they met capacity.
OHV Area 6-24-07 - showed up too late they reached capcity, so only took
some pictures from the side of the road.

Street Legal Vehicles are required
to have 4 wheel drive to enter the OHV area, They are only allowed certain
number of vehicles
in the OHV area, so get there early if you want to get in on busy weekends
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the
area, and all vehicles must meet local, State and Federal laws. Registration and
spark arrestors are required, and all ATV riders must wear a helmet.
San Gabriel Canyon OHV area is only open on
weekends and holidays. All visitors are required to be out of the area by
sunset. Hours may vary due to changing weather conditions. This area may be
closed at any time due to high river flow.
Hours year round 8:00 - 4:30pm
Saturday and Sunday
Fees are charged daily including holidays.
Primary vehicle - $8.00.
Secondary vehicle (such as dirt bikes or ATV's
hauled on a trailer) - $5.00
The fees charged here are used by the
Service to maintain and improve this area.
Also in the Area:
Rincon Shortcut Trail, about 1 mile
past the OHV staging area on the left is the entrance, a locked gate adventure
pass and combination required. As of December 10th
2011 its closed for road work
